The Unofficial Traxx.FM Jazz Selecta!

Congratulations to Michelle, Allan, James, Adrian and Chris for winning tickets to see Jeremy Monteiro, Michael Veerapen and Rani Singam LIVE at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) on December 6. YAY! And for those of you who weren’t so lucky, don’t worry cause Jazz Selecta has lot more surprises to come!

The questions were quite easy:

We spoke with Michael Veerapen for a bit via telephone and hope to have him in the studios in the near future.

As per usual, we had Maestro come on at around 10:45 p.m. not to give us jazz facts but to tell us about his Bali Jazz Festival experience. It was definetely a success according to him and guess what? No aerobics!

….8 days till the long awaited interview with Mia Palencia & Roger Wang aka DOUBLE TAKE!

We’re very excited simply because a) I don’t have to hear Jezza bicker how it’s so hard to get them on our show b) They are attempting to make the Malaysia Book of Records by staging the largest concert by a Jazz duo and hopefully trying to break into the Guiness World Book of records! I’ll drink to that! It’s not all about making the books though, 5% of ticket sales will be going to MAKNA, the national cancer council. So good on them!

We got Mia’s sister Natasha on the line last week to break the news. So folks, keep a date with us on Tuesday, November 29th, 9 - 12 midnight!

But don’t forget we are on every Tuesday night from 9 - Midnight.

Well this past weekend was a swell weekend. On Saturday, Jezza and I made an appearance at Bangkok Jazz to see the cool cats from Gruv Avenue perform. It was a wonderful experience and thanks to Bangkok Jazz and Gruv Avenue for their warm hospitality. If any of you guys reading were there - that really was Jezza and myself on stage! And yes, Jezza did call Jazz “musical masturbation”….

In other good news - we’ve been talking to some folks from MPO about some possible collaborations. Stay tuned to find out more!
